creepy swings

yea so.. I like creepy scenes. What can I say. Jeremy was the one who gave me this idea. So I cant credit myself to being all that creepy. :(

This is my final project for my Lighting 1 class. Again there is much room for improvement. I really like this project actually. I have decided to bring it into Lighting 2 and use it for my final there as well so I can keep working on it. I want to continue to define the lighting. Make it look real as possible. Add some branches, dead grass and rocks/stones on the ground. Make the transition of the dirt and trees better, more leaves possibly.. with some animation of them blowing a bit as if it's a little windy (which will totally add to the creepiness). Make the fog a little varagated and dispersed with the light coming thru on the top of the trees too to show the shadows of leaves on the ground. etc. The possibilities are endless. I'm excited to get started again. Any suggestions would be great.

Thanks Jer for the help. I learned a great deal about the different types of lighting thru doing this project.. (most of all patience with the rendering times.. ugh)

(if the video appears too dark to see on your computer you can see it by looking at the screen at an angle form the side.. It's really dark on my monitor at home but at the monitors at the school it's perfect. I think it is just different monitor calibration set ups)

Our assignment called for subtle animation as well.

Modeled, textured, lighting all done in maya and by ME!

Character Anim .. MOOMBOX

This is the path I have decided to go down again. When I first came to Gnomon and had some assignments to model I was thinking I would go down that path. But after I got a little taste of animation and character animation it was as if a light bulb went off.. this is exactly what I am meant to do. I'm only beginning to scratch the surface and I have sooo much more to learn. I think this is a good start. I thank Tom for helping me out and teaching me so many things about animation. I entered this in the BOT (best of term) contest.. we shall see. There are some good entries. Wish me luck.

For our final project we could do 1 of 2 things or our own thing. You could do a person waiting at a bus stop or a person with a box.. this was my idea for the box.

madusa

As a kid I was always intrigued by the woman who had snakes in her hair. Not sure why.. maybe it's because I had terrible bed head when I woke up (still do at times). Maybe I wanted to turn a few kids into stone who would call me names cuz I was small or had a nice sized scar down my chest. Either way.. when I had the chance to sculpt anything I wanted for my final project in ZBrush. I picked Madusa... it was only a matter of time.

There was so much more I wanted to sculpt on this but had to turn it in. No time left. I may keep working on her because I think its a decent start. But still needs A LOT of work. I thank Dillon for helping me out alot on this one.. I had no idea where to even begin with it. So pointing me in the right direction right off the bat was crucial. :) (those of you who know me well know how I am with directions)

Here is the concept piece I found on deviant art site.. I really love it.. even tho my sculpt doesn't look too close to it.. it is what I based everything off of. It was so much harder than I ever imagined to make something look exactly like the concept piece. I do not know the name of the artist.
